All About: Pinkie Pie

Pinkie Pie

Pinkie Pie is a pink female Earth pony and is one of the main characters / mane ponies of 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic'. In the 'Cutie Mark Chronicles' and the chapter book 'Pinkie Pie and the Rockin' Ponypalooza Party!' Pinkie Pie's parents call her Pinkamena Diane Pie. The voice behind Pinkie Pie is Andrea Libman, while Shannon Chan Kent is the voice behind her singing voice.

Pinkie Pie is the most energetic and hyper pony of them all and is usually the main portion of the comical gags in the show. She also writes and sings most of the songs in the show. Pinkie Pie is also the socialite pony as she knows every pony in Ponyville according to her, and doesn't hesitate to have a party to celebrate anything anytime. Pinkie Pie works at Sugarcube Corner and also lives on the second floor of the bakery with her toothless pet baby alligator, Gummy.
Pinkie Pie has a warm personality and stays light-hearted and brave in any situation. In many episodes she laughs at fear in the face, one example is the first episode, "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" where the Everfree Forest trees scare her friends, Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Applejack, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash, while Pinkie Pie ends up making a song to laugh the scariness away. Sometimes Pinkie's clumsiness and personality makes her friends not take her seriously, but Pinkie Pie also has a lot of sense, especially when her Pinkie Sense starts up.
Her Pinkie Sense is Pinkie's ability to almost predict the future. According to Applejack, all the ponies in Ponyville heed Pinkie Pie's words when she talks about her Pinkie Sense. At first, Twilight Sparkle was skeptic, but with a lack of scientific explanation, she gave in and believed in Pinkie's Pinkie Sense. A sign that her Pinkie Sense is working is when her tail twitches.

Another character trait that Pinkie Pie has is her cartoonish behavior and deposition. Some old classic cartoons and their behaviors can also be seen in Pinkie Pie's actions like in the episode "Griffon the Brush Off", Pinkie's skips remind the viewers of Pepé Le Pew, while in the episode "Dragonshy", her costume resembles Daffy Duck's costume in the Looney Toons episode, Duck Amuck. Pinkie can also do incredible feats like make her eyes pop out and more like from classic cartoons. Her overall personality makes her the perfect pony as she represents the Element of Laughter.

Although Pinkie Pie may be enthusiastic and outgoing, she can also be very insecure. In the episode, "Party of One", Pinkie doubts herself and her friends for being unfaithful making her "deflate" which makes her color turn a gray-ish pink and talk to inanimate objects declaring them as her friends. Also, when a lot of responsible is given to her on her hoofs, she can become overwhelmed and have difficulty with her responsibilities. Although, she is a very talented pony for making others laugh, talent in music and instruments, cooking, ice skating, and especially making the best parties for everyone!
Pinkie Pie's cutie mark features three balloons. Most likely, this represents what balloons usually always represent, which is a party! Pinkie Pie's personality always starts and ends with a party so her cutie mark also stands for that. During Pinkie Pie's history, the story of her Cutie Mark is also revealed. In "The Cutie Mark Chronicles", Pinkie tells the Cutie Mark Crusaders about her past and how she achieved her cutie mark. Pinkie was actually raised on a Rock Farm with her sisters Marble Pie and Limestone Pie and her mother Cloudy Quarts and father Igneous Rock which were all unnamed in the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic show, but was given names in the book, 'Pinkie Pie and the Rockin' Ponypalooza Party!'. All of Pinkie's family have neutral Earth-colored manes and coats of grays and browns and all have somber expressions until Pinkie Pie finds her true hidden talent.
During Rainbow Dash's sonic rainboom which cleared the skies and created a rainbow, the static shock wave created from it made Pinkie Pie's hair frizzle and curl up. After witnessing the sonic rainboom, Pinkie Pie flashes a smile which makes her decide what she wants to do in life which is make everypony smile and laugh by spreading joy to others. She then invites her family to their very own first party where they shakily develop smiles and eventually join in the fun of the party.

Pinkie Promise
"Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye."
-Pinkie Pie
Pinkie Pie has a variation to the "Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a thousand needles in my eye." promise. Pinkie uses, "Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." Pinkie Pie takes these promises very seriously. These are used in the episodes "Green Isn't Your Color" and "The Last Roundup"

Gummy is Pinkie Pie's adorable 1 year old toothless baby pet alligator who is introduced in the episode "Feeling Pinkie Keen". Pinkie confides in Gummy's company and ideas about her feelings in the episode "Party of One" and celebrates her birthday one day after Gummy's in the same episode. Pinkie shows how much she loves Gummy by just screaming to her heart's content how much she loves him in the episode "Just for Sidekicks".

My Little Pony: FiM - Season 1 Ep 8 - Look Before you Sleep

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic - Season 1 Episode 8 - Look Before you Sleep

Lesson:

Although you and your friend is the total opposite of each other or even have little to nothing in common, the both of you can still be the best of friends by embracing, accepting and loving one another's differences. That is the amazing part of being different from one another and staying close friends is you are who you are and you know that your friend will always accept and love you for that reason.

SUMMARY:

The eighth episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is entitled 'Look Before You Sleep'.

The Pegasi create a downpour and storm since they missed their last schedule for rain. The storm forces Applejack and Rarity to stay at Twilight Sparkle's home at the Golden Oak Library. Twilight takes this opportunity to drag Applejack and Rarity into her very first slumber party. Will the three friends have fun when Applejack and Rarity can't stop bickering? The title of the episode is a play on the saying "Look before you Leap" which means to plan before you take action.

BRING ON THE STORM

Cloud Kicker and Parasol fit the last cloud
In an open field near Golden Oak Library, several Pegasi like Derpy Hooves, Cloud Kicker, and Parasol put clouds in perfect place to get the heavy downpour and thunderstorm ready. Also, other Earth ponies on the ground like Applejack, Sweetie Drops, Cherry Berry and more prepare for the storm by cleaning up loose branches so that they won't hurt any other pony or their homes during the storm. Rarity also tries to help out, but how she helps is by making pretty topiary out of the loose branches. Applejack tells Rarity her disapproval of doing such and the both start to bicker as Applejack insists Rarity to bring the branches down. Rarity then back comments that she disapproves of how Applejack has made a big mess out of things. As they are arguing, rain starts to fall making Rarity panic about her styled mane. Although the two go back to arguing a little longer, the storm intensifies as thunder, rain, and wind increases. Twilight Sparkle notices the both of them outside, and tell the two of them to take shelter in her library.

SLUMBER 101

Twilight tells her friends that she is alone for the night since Spike is away for royal Canterlot business. She then takes the opportunity of having Applejack and Rarity over at her home as the perfect time to have her very own, first ever, slumber party. Twilight then gets her "Slumber 101: All You Ever Wanted to Know About Slumber Parties But Were Afraid to Ask" book in order for the thre of them to have a successful first slumber party. Applejack and Rarity aren't as excited as Twilight Sparkle though since the both of them still aren't on good terms. After the mud mask that Twilight prepared for all of them, Applejack and Rarity has an argument that ended in both of them agreeing to behave during Twilight's slumber party since they wouldn't want to ruin her first one. The oblivious Twilight doesn't notice the tension between her two friends and continues her slumber party by the book, literally.

During the ghost stories portion of their slumber party, Applejack and Rarity suggest stories which suggests reasons why the both of them don't like each other. Before the two of them could continue, Twilight Sparkle starts to tell her friends about the story of The Headless Horse which scares both of them especially when a flash of lightning hit at the exact moment. During making s'mores, Applejack burped disgusting Rarity and during Truth or Dare, only Applejack and Rarity participated and the two of them made each other do ridiculous things making Applejack wear a froufrou dress and Rarity get her mane all wet. Twilight Sparkle finally realizes the conflict between the two ponies during the Pillow Fight game where Applejack and Rarity made it become more like a Pillow War, trapping Twilight in the middle of their anger. Twilight suggests instead that they all get some sleep.

SLEEP? WHAT SLEEP?

Applejack and Rarity's argument continue's on even as all of them go to sleep. Tired of hearing her two friends bicker, Twilight intervenes and asks the two of the if they are happy now that they ruined her first slumber party. In time as Twilight exasperated is anything else could go wrong, a lightning bolt strikes a nearby tree. As it leans toward a house, Applejack ignores Rarity's warnings and lassos the tree, however instead of stabilizing it, it crashes through Twilight's bedroom window creating a huge mess. Rarity focuses on cleaning up Twilight's books while Twilight frantically searches in her slumber party book for any guidance on how to do with fallen trees in the middle of her bedroom. Applejack tries and fails to move the tree by herself and eventually apologizes to Rarity so that they can clear the tree together rather than allow Rarity worry about all the little things. Rarity then uses her unicorn magic to turn the treetop into pony pretty bush sculptures and to Rarity's insistence, Applejack gently tosses a broken tree trunk out of the window.

THE BEST FIRST SLUMBER PARTY

Applejack: Is it... a six-legged pony with a purple polka-dotted mane and shootin' stars comin' out of his eyes?

Rarity: Who flies through the air all over the world to hide magic, sparkly eggs?

Along with the tree and the storm, the differences between Applejack and Rarity finally settled, allowing all of them including Twilight Sparkle to finish their slumber party. Applejack and Rarity apologize to each other and they end their party with a game of 20 Questions. Twilight then sends Princess Celestia a friendship report about how amazing it is that two different ponies can have nothing in common can be the best of friends whenever they get past each others' differences. Twilight then proposes for another slumber party for them soon, but get two pillows and a lot of laughs in return. The sky then clears up to a beautiful day.

All About: Fluttershy

Fluttershy

Fluttershy is a yellow Pegasus pony and is one of the main characters / mane ponies of 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic'. The voice behind Fluttershy is Andrea Libman, although in the episode 'Bridle Gossip' the voice behind 'Flutterguy' is Blu Mankuma.

Fluttershy is a very shy, polite and soft-spoken pony that just adores animals and has an ability to be able to talk to them. Her home is a cottage on the edge of Everfree Forest on the outskirts of Ponyville. Fluttershy and her many animal friends live there where she tends to their needs daily as the cottage has a lot of nooks and crannies for the birds, mice, and other animals to have fun in. Fluttershy has a pet bunny named Angel who is always there to push and support her. Although Angel may be her pet, Fluttershy doesn't like to call Angel or any of her other animal friends a 'pet'. Her personality revolves around kindness, making her perfect for the representing pony of the Element of Kindness.

Several episodes depict Fluttershy's natural talent of being kind, empathetic and understanding between animals. In the first episode of the show, 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (Part 2)' where Fluttershy and her friends, Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity seek out The Elements of Harmony, Fluttershy show's kindness to a raging manticore that everypony got ready to attack. She gently walked up to the manticore and pulled out a thorn in his paw which was the reason for his rage. Also in the episode of 'Dragonshy', Fluttershy admits her fear of big, scary dragons and doesn't have the guts to talk to it. But when she sees that the dragon hurt her friends, she stood up to him and making him cry from her harshness, but gently calming him in the end, telling him to move to a different sleeping spot.

Fluttershy has a move which Rarity named, "The Stare" in an episode where Rarity asked Fluttershy is she used 'The Stare' on her pet cat, Opal. 'The Stare' is when Fluttershy gives a powerful stare that has the ability to 'control' or settle down misbehaving animals like her chicken up to her pet bunny, Angel. Fluttershy doesn't really like using 'The Stare' though and only uses it during sire situations.

Although Fluttershy is very sweet and soft-spoken and is very patient with things that the other ponies can't handle, she actually has a hidden side of her where she gets really angry. Like in the episode of 'The Best Night Ever', she slowly becomes frustrated when the animals in Canterlot's Castle garden ignore her making her burst into anger and force the animals to love her in the end. Also in other episodes like 'The Return of Harmony Part 2' and 'Power Ponies' while in the episode 'Putting Your Hoof Down' , Fluttershy learns how to say no and become violent and aggressive when she get's motivational advice from the manly Minotaur, Iron Will. By the end of the episode, Fluttershy goes back to normal.

Other than her amazing veterinary and animal caregiver talent, Fluttershy has other talents like being able to sew where Applejack even calls her expertise "freaky" as she helps Rarity finish a dress in the episode 'Suited for Success'. Another amazing talent of Fluttershy is her singing and music talent which is first seen in the first episode, 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (Part 1)' as she has a rehearsal with her bird friends for the Summer Sun Celebration. She has musical numbers in other episodes and hums some themes in other episode. She is also the music provider in the episode for the wedding in 'A Canterlot Wedding (Part 1)'.

Fluttershy's Cutie Mark is three pink butterflies. They probably represent her gentleness which can be compared as the gentleness and fragility of a butterfly, and of course represent her love of animals and all the little forest creatures. Fluttershy's cutie mark story is shown in a flashback during the episode 'The Cutie Mark Chronicles'. The same as Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy comes from the city of Cloudsdale. Even as Fluttershy was a filly, she has always been a weak flier and has always been bullied. Ironically, the same Pegasi that were messing with Rainbow Dash in the episode 'Sonic Rainboom' were the same Pegasi that bullied Fluttershy as a filly and called her "Klutzershy". Fluttershy has always been different as she was taller, ganglier, and had tad larger wings than the other foals. The time when Rainbow Dash defended Fluttershy by challenging the bullies to a race, the participants accidentally knocked Fluttershy off the clouds, falling to the ground. Thankfully, a swarm of butterflies prevented Fluttershy from having a rough fall. When Fluttershy reached the ground, she was amazed by all the new things and greenery since it was her first time on the ground, making her start to sing. Rainbow Dash's sonic rainboom then startles the animals into hiding. Fluttershy then gently calms and comforts the animals, realizing her talent of being able to talk to animals in return. Realizing her special connection with animals, Fluttershy then receives her cutie mark.

All About: Applejack

Applejack

Applejack is a female orange Earth pony and is one of the main characters / mane ponies of 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic'. The voice behind Applejack is Ashleigh Ball.

Applejack and Winona
Applejack is one of the most reliable, trustworthy, dependable, capable, and definitely hard-working ponies out there. Proving that, Applejack was giving the 'Prize Pony of Ponyville Award' during the episode entitled 'Applebuck Season' for her outstanding works all around Ponyville and saving the town from a herd of cows. She lives and works at Sweet Apple Acres along with her big brother Big McIntosh, little sister Apple Bloom, her grandmother Granny Smith, and her dog Winona.
Young Applejack
Applejack is definitely the epitome of a small-town pony with her sweet southern accent and her endearment of 'sugarcube' to many of her friends and family and her all-around knowledge of everything they do around Ponyville. She is also one very stubborn pony. Her stubbornness is seen in the episode, 'Applebuck Season' as she has trouble accepting help from other ponies. Her personality revolves around her multi-talented self involving skills are her knack of being a very considerate, thoughtful, and caring pony. Applejack is known for her strength as on Sweet Apple Acres farm, she helps with the applebucking which is the way they harvest apples by bucking the trees. Of her many talents she is also great at athletics like Rainbow Dash, herding animals, and cooking. According to Pinkie Pie in the episode of 'The Ticket Master', Applejack is "one of the best bakers ever".

Baby Applejack
Well known for her huge appetite, Applejack is not shy to showing her lack of etiquette as she also doesn't like girly things like the froufrou dresses in the episode 'Look Before You Sleep' and 'Suited for Success'. Applejack is also a high-strung pony sometimes and during an argument she doesn't back down that easily, but when she does she is the first one to do so. Applejack is rarely ever seen without her light-brown cowgirl hat unless she goes to sleep. Although, due to her trustworthiness and dependability, Applejack is definitely the perfect pony who represents the Element of Honesty.

Applejack's name come from actually comes from the name of a strong alcoholic beverage which is made from apples. She is also the only pony to get her name abbreviated in the show. Several episodes like in 'Applebuck Season', 'Boast Busters', 'The Last Roundup, and 'MMMystery on the Friendship Express', Applejack is referred to as "A.J." by Twilight Sparkle, Spike, Big McIntosh, Twilight and Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie respectively.
Applejack's Cutie Mark displays three red apples and is perfect for her as she is a proud family member of the Apple Family and apples are her pride and joy.

The story behind Applejack's cutie mark starts in the episode of 'Call of the Cutie' where she tells her sister, Apple Bloom that she was the last one in her class to get her cutie mark which seems to be a trait in the family and both Granny Smith and Big McIntosh also got their cutie marks last. In 'The Cutie Mark Chronicles', Applejack shares her story to the Cutie Mark Crusaders of how she got her cutie mark. When Applejack was young, she left her farm to live with her higher class relatives, The Oranges in a big city named Manehattan. Although she tried, Applejack becomes terribly homesick and after seeing the last of the rainbow from Rainbow Dash's sonic rainboom gives her the courage and final answer to go back home. Applejack them realizes how she truly belongs in the family farm with everyone and her cutie mark appears.
Applejack lives on Sweet Apple Acres

My Little Pony: FiM - Season 1 Ep 7 - Dragonshy

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic - Season 1 Episode 7 - Dragonshy

Lesson:
Never lose faith in your friends even if they may seem weak, sometimes they can be the reason for your strength which will help overcome your fears. Also, even though someone may be bigger than you, or you may be bigger than others, that doesn't mean you get to be a bully, show everyone even a little bit of kindness always.

SUMMARY:

The seventh episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is entitled 'Dragonshy'.

A sleeping dragon  is asleep in the mountains of Equestria and the smoke from the dragon's snoring clouds the skies of Equestria. If not stopped, the smoke will cover all of Equestria for a hundred years. The mane 6 ponies are out on a mission from Princess Celestia to make the dragon leave and take a nap somewhere else. The title of the episode is a portmanteau of dragon and Fluttershy.

LOOK AT THE SMOKE

Fluttershy is doing her daily tending and caring of little animals around her house when she notices the rabbit, Angel munching on a carrot quickly. Fluttershy then walks over to Angel to tell him to eat slower or else he will get a tummy ache. Upset, Angel drops the carrot and runs away, Fluttershy catches up to him and gives him back his carrot and tells him to eat more. Not moved by Fluttershy's efforts to get him to eat more, he kicks the carrot away and runs off again. Although right away something isn't right when Angel starts to cough. Fluttershy kept guessing incorrectly what was wrong with Angel so he pointed to the sky to she her the smoke. Thinking the smoke was from a fire, Fluttershy rushes to Ponyville to warn everypony. Due to her tiny voice and lack of confidence, Fluttershy is ignored while Rainbow Dash keeps playing with a ball to break a record, Pinkie Pie keeps thinking of ways to celebrate Rainbow's record, and all the other ponies keep making small talk with each other. The only one to grab all the ponies' attention is Twilight Sparkle where she then warns everypony about the smoke.

LET'S GET READY

After the mane six all gather at the Golden Oak Library, Twilight Sparkle tells all of them the information that Princess Celestia gave Twilight. The smoke that everypony saw hovering over Ponyville wasn't just any normal smoke from a fire, but from a dragon itself. Prnicess Celestia warms all of them that if the smoke and dragon isn't dealt with immediately, all of Equestria will be covered in smoke for a hundred years. Twilight and her friends then go prepare for the journey.

A short montage that is similar to 70's and 80's action films then happens featuring Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Pinkie PieRainbow Dash, Rarity, and Fluttershy as they prepare for their journey. Rainbow Dash is seen painting rainbow stripes on her cheek, Applejack packs money and apples, Pinkie Pie is shown having balloons explode out of her bag as she says "I mean GRRRR", Rarity puts on a khaki military helmet on then changes it to a khaki hat, and Fluttershy comes out of her house wearing a whole hockey uniform then is frightened when the door shuts. As the friends all rendezvous to the bottom of the mountain where the dragon sleeps, Fluttershy tries hard to talk to Twilight in order to avoid going along with the mission where Rainbow actually agrees with leaving Fluttershy behind. Twilight, however states that Fluttershy's skills in being able to interact with wild animals may be useful on the journey. Spike is then left to tend Fluttershy's animals.

THE JOURNEY

Throughout the whole journey, Rainbow Dash kept reminding how unsure she was for bringing Fluttershy along. Rainbow's skepticism becomes justified when the dragon snores and Fluttershy's wings lock up making her unable to fly, the dragon then snores again making her fall to her side like a goat. Applejack is then forced to drag Fluttershy another way around the mountain than climbing up the side with the others. When they all group together, they have to jump from one cliff edge to another and Fluttershy has troubles so Pinkie Pie to the rescue sings the "Hop Skip and Jump Song" to encourage Fluttershy to jump. After that, they walked through an avalanche-prone area where one little sound could cause an avalanche. When a fallen leaf falls on Fluttershy's back, she screams "Avalanche!" causing a real avalanche. Applejack helps keeps everyone safe and they climb over the mountain of fallen rock and dirt.

Eventually they reach their destination to the top of the mountain where the dragon has been taking a nap. Twilight has everything planned and then tells Fluttershy to go inside the cave with her to confront the dragon together. Although no matter how much encouraging and pushes from her friends, Fluttershy tells all of them that she just can't since she's afraid of big, grown-up dragons. Everyone decides to finigh their mission without her.

HELLO MR. DRAGON

Twilight Sparkle ventures inside the cave alone to talk to the dragon but her efforts meant nothing to the dragon as he ignored her. Rarity then struts inside the cave to charm the dragon into leaving but then fails when her true intention of getting some jewels for herself is known. Next, Pinkie Pie goes inside to try to make the dragon laugh as she wore flippers, giant glasses, balloons, and a party popper but is immediately blown away with no success. Rainbow Dash then attempts to confront the dragon with her strength and force by kicking the dragon's nose. In the end, all she was able to do was make the dragon angry and get up to attack them, making them all dizzy and destroying Fluttershy's hiding spot.

When Fluttershy saw what happened to her friends, her courage builds up to reprimand the dragon for what he did to them. She scolds the dragon for bullying her friends but the dragon tries to explain that Rainbow kicked him. Fluttershy apologized to the dragon for what Rainbow did to him, but then explains that he is bigger than a pony and he should be more considerate. She also admonishes the dragon for sleeping in a place where he could harm the health of other creatures. The dragon's attempts to argue back continuously fail due to Fluttershy's tone and in the end all he could do was cry. After giving the dragon a lecture, she then calms the crying dragon down and tells him to pack his things and sleep somewhere else. The dragon then flies away.

EQUESTRIA IS SAVED

Everypony is back at Ponyville to Spike's relief as he was having a hard time with Angel. Twilight Sparkle then relays a friendship report to Princess Celestia and tells her that Equestria is safe from the dragon's smoke. Outside the library, all of Twilight's friends gather around Rainbow Dash as she attempts to break her ball-bouncing record once again. Applejack calls Twilight over and just as Rainbow was about to break a record, Pinkie Pie pulls a prank on her by imitating the dragon roar scaring Rainbow and messing up her ball-bouncing failing to reach the record again. Fluttershy laughs and says that maybe not every pony is as brave as her until a leaf falls on to her back again making her freeze up too.

All About: Rainbow Dash

Rainbow Dash

Rainbow Dash is a blue female Pegasus pony and is one of the main characters / mane ponies of 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic'. The voice behind Rainbow Dash is Ashleigh Ball.

Rainbow Dash is in charge of the weather and clouds in Ponyville although she is sometimes seen as lazy because of her confidence in her skills. She boasts about her quickness as she is known for being one of the quickest ponies out there and the quickest pony in Ponyville. Although, in the episode 'Sonic Rainboom', both Princess Celestia and Rarity declare Rainbow Dash as the best flier in all of Equestria. She can also make rainbows as she flies around.

Rainbow Dash, also known as just Rainbow, lives in a cloud home that floats in the air somewhere near Ponyville. She used to be in Junior Speedster Flight Camp with an old Griffon friend named Gilda. Gilda makes an appearance in the episode 'Griffon the Brush Off'. Now she's a huge fan of the most popular flying squad in Equestria, The Wonderbolts.

Rainbow's personality is very high-strung, proud, and bold as she is a pony that speaks her mind and doesn't hide what she feels. She is also very competitive and her second favorite thing to flying is winning. She also eventually finds out her love of reading later in the series because of Twilight Sparkle.

Young Rainbow Dash

Rainbow Dash is also a very high-spirited and mischievous pony as she always ends up getting in trouble and finds way to make some with pranks but she is a wonderful athlete with her amazing flying skills. Although Rainbow is sometimes rash and rude, she is a wonderful friend  for she protects them no matter what and one of the most loyal ponies out there as she represents the Element of Loyalty.

Later on in the series, Rainbow Dash actually gets accepted into the Wonderbolts Academy for a week where she makes friend with another Pegasus pony named Lightning Dust who she also got paired up with to complete cadet training exercises together. During a challenge to obliterate the clouds, Lightning Dust thought he could finish the challenge faster by making a tornado, but almost hurt Rainbow Dash's friends Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Applejack, Pinkie Pie and Rarity in the process. Rainbow saved them but gets her own wing injured from doing so. Because of that incident, Rainbow decides to quit the academy thinking that they only reward the reckless cadets. The captain of The Wonderbolts, Spitfire catches up with Rainbow in time to inform her that being the best you can shouldn't mean you should go to the expense of harming other ponies and that being elite isn't just about pushing oneself but pushing oneself to the right direction. Spitfire then says that Rainbow has showed those qualities and awards her with the lead pony badge.

Rainbow Dash also gets a pet tortoise later on in the series in the episode of 'May the Best Pet Win!' from FluttershyRainbow names him Tank and although he may not be the fastest or agile pet out there, Rainbow picks and loves him out of all the other pets because of his loyalty to her.

Rainbow Dash playing with Tank

Rainbow's Cutie Mark is of a rainbow lightning bolt with a white cloud. It most likely represents Rainbow's ability to clear the skies and how she can create rainbows. Also, the lightning must represent how fast she can fly, almost like the speed of lightning.
Rainbow Dash's house in the clouds.

The story of how Rainbow Dash got her cutie mark was during flight camp one summer. At that time, Rainbow defended Fluttershy from a pair of bullies who called Rainbow Dash, "Rainbow Crash", but she was also given a nickname by Spike in the episode 'Bridle Gossip'. One of the bullies that were bullying Fluttershy already had a cutie mark while both Rainbow and Fluttershy didn't have their own yet. Rainbow then challenges both of the bullies to a flying Pegasus race where she realizes her burning passion for flying and "winning" according to her. As they went through the race course, Rainbow performed her first-ever sonic rainboom move and not only gained her cutie mark but also helped create the momentum of events which would allow Fluttershy and her other Ponyville friends to get their cutie marks also.
